TREND ALERT: How to wear coloured jeans this summer?

COLOURS COLOURS COLOURS. Its all about colours this season. Coloured jeans are the latest fashion trend this summer. They are fun, fashionable, bright and chic. They range from different colours from neon to pastel. If you already have them...very good, if no... go get them!! Here is a small tip on how to chose the right colour. If you are blessed with sexy legs, opt for any colour you want, but if you are a bit on the heavier side, go for darker colours like deep purple or dark green as, dark colours tend to smooth out the bulges. But what really matters is the fit of the jeans, if it fits you well, go for it. Red jeans are my personal fav, they make you look bright and sexy and go with almost any other top.
In case you are wondering, how to pair your coloured jeans with the right top, look no further. Here are some ways to show, how to wear your coloured jeans this summer

-Playing it safe
If you don't want to experiment much with your coloured jeans and want to be on the safer side, then pair them with a black, white or a neutral colour top. Believe it or not, they always go with any colour. Moreover, these colours are never out of fashion.

-Colour blocking it
If you are bold and daring, then, colour block it baby! Pair your coloured jeans with a contrasting colour top or a colour block top. Now for this style, you'll have to keep the colour wheel in mind. What does a colour wheel look like?? Yes, its the one you learnt in kindergarten. No idea?? OK OK, this is what it looks like.

OK, so, always keep in mind that colours which are adjacent to each other on the colour wheel never go together when it comes to coloured jeans. Say, a green jeans with a blue-green top !! Hell no!!!... Match your jeans with a contrasting colour or a colour opposite to or alternate to it on the the colour wheel. It will make you look vibrant and trendy. Also, wear suitable accessories to make your look more fashionable.

-Denim on denim
Yes, classic denim shirts and tops do go with coloured denim jeans. They match with almost all the colours, but the major factor here is the shade of the denim top. Always see that the shade of the top should go with the colour of your jeans. Like, lighter shades of denim look fab with lighter colour jeans like pink, yellow etc.

-Prints and patterns
Summer is all about beautiful prints and patterns, be it floral print, tribal print or any other pattern. Pairing such tops with a coloured jeans is simply wow!! But again, you have to keep the colour wheel in mind and match the dominating colour of the top with a contrasting coloured jeans.

Of course there are many other ways to wear your jeans but I hope this helps you. I would love to see how you wear your coloured jeans. Send me your pics to my email akki.mathur25@gmail.com and I will share them on the blog. :)

Make your own ring!!

So, I was going through my craft materials today and i saw a purple gem and i really liked it. It looked lovely on the fingers and hence struck the idea of making my own finger ring. Its very simple. You just have to take some thin alluminium wire and put it through both the holes of the gem and then coil it on your finger so that it takes a round shape. After 3-4 coils, just roll the ends of the wire through the circle and then use a plier or a scissor to give a final roll to the wire. I promise you, they'll look beautiful on your fingers. If you want to add some more spark, put some vibrant nail paint and then sport these. I tried to do the same. Check these out ;)

DIY: Colour block sandals

Well, this is my first DIY that I am about to post. I hope you guys like it. Do comment.
We all have those old boring sandals which we either dont like or are worn out. Here is a simple way of converting those dull pieces into something lively and fun.

P.S. please excuse me for the bad camera quality.

You will need :
- Old pair of sandals
-White and black acrylic colour paint
-Any three colours of acrylic paint that you want to paint on the sandals
-Brushes
-Cello tape
-A scale
-A black pen

-Start with scrubing off the extra leather from the sandals.

-And then they will look like this.

-With the help of a scale, draw the lines in this pattern.

-Do the same for other side and then on the other pair.

- Seal the corners of the strap with some cellotape so that you dont paint the sides of the sandals.

-Now paint both the straps white.

- Once the paint dries, get ready with the other colours and start painting each block with different colours to create an interesting pattern.

-Once this is done, paint the outlines with black colour.

-And voila! your new pair of sandals are ready :)
